GLADIATORS ARRIVE!!

A new team name…… A new tournament, but same old passion and vigor to win the cup.
Team Mt. Hopers are now re-energized as Team ‘The Gladiators’. After their comprehensive victory, over the previous years Runners up (BGSCIT), it was only appropriate that the young players were addressed as GLADIATORS.  Placed in a group of experienced tournament winners, Mt. Hopers bowled hard, batted intelligently and fielded with all their energy to secure a quarter final berth. Truly in the spirit of General Maximus, the never say die attitude sets ‘The Gladiators apart’
Still wanna call us an underdog………….. better think twice!!
Team, ‘The Gladiators’ predominantly boasts of great bowlers.  Below are the talented players who not only give their best on field but also give it in true spirit of the game.
Varun Bhere:  A fine middle order batsman, who rotates for ones and twos and keeps the score ticking. He models his game after Rahul Dravid, and is always eager to contribute to the teams winning cause. His hunger to win can be best summarized when he brought his $160 season ball cricket bat, and let his team mates use it to play a tennis ball.
Varun Bhere: TEAM MAN.
Sudheer Chennuri: This dynamo, can ball Yorkers at will, and hit powerful shots at will. A fine cricketer, Sudheer is the latest addition to Gladiators, and comes with the complete package. Sudheer advertised his potential to the T, during practice sessions, and Team gladiators look towards him to contribute to a win:
Sudheer Chennuri: Wholsale Package
Sumit Dutta: One look at his bowling, and you know that this zippy seamer will give you a tough time when you face him. With his pace and nagging offstump line, one has to put his wicket on line if he thinks of scoring. Sumit still feels he needs to perform better to get a spot in the playing 11, and this driving force sets him apart.
Sumit Dutta: Miser bowler.
Preet Gandhi: Preet has this uncanny ability to hit a ball wide on the off stump into a perfect gap on the legside. Once he gets set, he doesn’t appear to throw his wicket away. Preets USP is nudging into gaps and running fast to convert them into 2’s and 3’s. A great team man, Preet bolsters the middle order of team Gladiators.
Preet Gandhi: Ajay Jadeja
Rahul Jhaveri: Mr. Jhaveri is the perfect gujju bhai. He doesn’t believe in wasting the energy during practice, but saves up his best on the match day. Easily the hardest fast bowler to play, Rahul is the bowling spearhead of the team. Time and again, he has given great start to the team, by restricting runs and picking up wickets.
Rahul Jhaveri: Bowling Machine.
Pankaj Jagdale: A fierce competitor, Pankaj is a batting talent. A payer who wants to do it all is one of the finest addition to the team. Pankaj has good appetite for runs, and has the ability to hit boundaries at will. A superb fielder, and time and again has shown that he can hit the stumps from deep. His aggression on field lifts everyone and he easily saves 10 runs for the team every match.
Pankaj Jagdale: Jonty Sehwag
Praneeth Koralla: How often have we heard, that looks can be deceiving. Praneeth Koralla personifies this saying. This soft spoken mystery bowler makes the batsman yell out or get out in frustration. Batsman find it hard to read his ball, Keeper finds it hard to read his ball, but Praneeth with all his certainty knows how to keep the batsman guessing. A more than useful middle order batsman, Praneeth can belt out sixes far and deep behind the ropes.
Praneeth Koralla: Treasure Hunt
Yogesh Mudaliar: The opening batsman and captain of Gladiators, Yogesh wants to take strike of the first ball of the match. His strength lies in guiding the ball on the offside for singles and playing strokes all around the park. Given the responsibility of batting through the innings, Yogesh does his best to give his team a proud total on board.
Yogesh Mudaliar: Anchor
Sandeep Pendru: Sandeep is a total nonchalant batsman. His strength lies is picking singles every ball. A complete team man, Sandeep runs equally hard when on the non-striker. Fields deep, and commits completely to fielding. Sandeep is another new addition, and Gladiators are wanting to know how he sounds. Apparently the only time Sandeep talks is when hes batting..
2..2.22.22… come… onemore… onemore…..
Sandeep Pendru: Silent assasingle
Palaniappan Ramanathan: If ‘P’ is for passion, then passion is for Pallaniappan. So passionate for teams win, that Palaniappan wanted to sit out so that the team can have a perfect team combination. Palani puts a price to his wicket and never gets out cheaply. Fondly called as ‘Deivam’ Palani has this unique record of never getting out, be in actual match or even practice games.
Palani: Passionate Deivam
Nitin Sood: This hard hitting batsman, is the first one to arrive for practice, ALL THE TIME. Nitin is a powerful On-Side batsman, with midwicket being his area of choice to score runs. Nitin always has good ideas during the practice session, and thinks of several different ways to practice. A great team member, its fun to be around Nitin.
Nitin Sood: Dedication
Sanchit Trivedi: A belligerent batsman, Sanchit loves to play aerial shots. It’s a beautiful sight when the ball comes of the middle of his blade and sails into the boundary. Sanchit has the ability to pace his innings and can suppress his natural instinct and play safely by rotating singles. Sanchit has the record of ‘no bowler being able to get him out for 16 overs’, which is the longest in team gladiators. His safe pair of hands do the work of stopping runs behind the wicket.
Sanchit Trivedi: Dynamic

Logesh Vasu: Swooosh!! Exactly the sound the batsman hears when the ball passes his nose. A short run up and an incomplete bowling action further act as the surprising elements to his fast balls. An experienced cricketer, Logesh carries the burden of picking up wickets in the middle overs. Again, another great team man, who plays with all his heart and enjoys the game.
Logesh Vasu: Unn Ball kudo Pessu ,( you make your balls talk)

With this powerful and talented line up. Team Gladiators, will only get stronger with each tournament.
